It's Friday the 13th and what better time for a Triple Threat news update? After a few months off due to Tim and his wife having a baby, The Kreep taking a 2 week trip to his motherland of Germany and Ed heading out to Japan for family fun (and sneakers), Triple Threat is back in action. Not that we were ever really out of action, but because of everything going on, it was tough to schedule shows and practices. We're now back in the practice space, writing and fine tuning new songs and prepping for a slew of summer shows. Two local Jersey shows coming up this month, one in Garfield, NJ at the Garfield American Legion on April 21st and the other in Trenton, NJ at Championship on April 29th. Keep an eye out here for future news as well as our Triple Threat MySpace page. Thanks and see you at the shows.

Yes, we finally updated the site a bit but for more photos, music and videos, please check out our myspace site. That page is much easier to keep up to date with all our happenings. Lately we have been practicing a lot and writing new songs for our next record. Were also working on playing a show with Underdog in Allentown, PA in May.

Triple Threat jumped back in the studio. This time around we were recording one track for an upcoming compilation on Revelation. The idea for this comp that Rev is doing is to have modern day hardcore bands cover songs from the early Rev bands. We were originally asked back when the whole idea came together, sometime early in the year. Unfortunately at the time that we were originally asked, we were in the process of recording for our LP. At that time we just had too much on our plate, so we passed on the offer. Fast forward to October and we get a second chance offer to be apart of the comp. At this point we were freed up and had plenty of time on our hands, so we made it happen. We decided to cover a song from Revelation:6, the No For An Answer "You Laugh" EP. We went with "Without A Reason", one of my personal favorites from that EP. We practiced the song quite a bit throughout November. Our goal was to cover it as well as we could and do it justice, but also ad a bit of our own feel to the song. In the end, I think it came out pretty cool. All the music was recorded live and I did the vocals in one take, so it's got a pretty raw, yet powerful sound. Hopefully the rest of the compilation comes together well. We'll keep you posted on it's release date.

Triple Threat - "Into The Darkness", the brand new 13 song full length
CD/LP should be sitting on your favorite record store's shelves.
Released as expected on July 25th, Bridge 9 did a great job both
quality wise and sticking to their schedule. When we saw these LP's
and CD's delivered to our door step, we honestly couldn't have been
happier. Design wise, everything translated perfectly when printed.
Brian Walsby's art came out incredible for the album cover. Musically,
everything came together as we hoped. Instead of the original live at
CBGB's 7" deal that was going to ship out with the pre-ordered CD's, we
ended up going with a 18x24 screen printed poster displaying Brain
Walsby's cover artwork, hand signed by him and numbered. In the coming
months, expect Triple Threat out and playing as much as possible.
Tonight's the kick off of the Gorilla Biscuits tour here in Jersey and
we couldn't be more psyched to be on the same bill. Unofficially
tonight's show will be our "Into The Darkness" release show. We tried
to make it more official and advertised as such, but it just didn't
come together. Either way, it's on. Next up will be Philadelphia's
"This Is Hardcore 2006" fest on August 18th, then followed by CBGB's on
the 19th with H20. See you on top of the crowd.

It's official, "Into The Darkness", the new full length CD/LP will be released and in stores July 25th, 2006 on Bridge 9 Records. All layouts and recordings have been submitted and we eagerly await the final product. We've also supplied Bridge 9 with two new exclusive Triple Threat t shirt designs, two new sticker designs, a poster, a pin and there will also be a limited edition, pre-order only Triple Threat live at CBGB's 7". Go to: B9STORE to check out all the latest Triple Threat merch and further info. On the show front, we've got a few big shows in the works for this summer. At this point we're still nailing down all the details, but it looks like Triple Threat will be playing at least 2 fests. We've also been confirmed to play the opening date of the Gorilla Biscuits tour in Asbury Park, NJ at the Stone Pony on Friday August 4th. More show dates and info will follow as we receive it.

After 8 studio sessions, our LP is finally complete. This past
weekend we hit the studio for one last time to fine tune the mix.
After 10 hours, we walked out of there with an unmastered, but final
mix. Listening to the CD on the ride home, we all agreed that this
was the best collection of recorded material that any of us have been
associated with. I think we had high hopes going into this, but you
never know what you're going to get until you have it. Our next step
is to finalize the layouts, then drop everything in the hands of
Bridge 9. As soon as we have an official release date, we'll
announce it.

Finally, after what seems like forever, we've gotten our journal feature up and running. Our intentions with the journal, are to give everybody a loose review of each and every show we play. I guess after reading Henry's, "Get In The Van" and "Broken Summers", I thought documenting each show and the events surrounding them would be a cool and interesting feature.
Also, Triple Threat started the recording process this past weekend. So far we've laid all the drum and guitar tracks down. Next weekend we'll be doing vocals, bass tracks and whatever else. While sitting around the studio for the past couple of days, I thought it might be a cool idea to keep a blog of our day to day studio activities. I'm utilizing the blog feature on our MySpace page, so if you're interested, check it out at: www.myspace.com/triplethreat

It's official, the up-coming Triple Threat LP, "Into The Darkness", will be released on Bridge 9 Records out of Boston, Massachusetts. We've been talking with Chris and the guys at B9 for months and finally settled everything up this past weekend. We'll be hitting Labyrinth Sound Stuidos in Cherry Hill, NJ starting the weekend of March 3rd. From there we have the next three weekends booked and will wrap everything up by March 19th. We'll be recording 13 tracks, 12 of which will be brand new and one which will be a re-recording of one of our 7" tracks. We're definitely really psyched to get this ball rolling. Expect a mid summer release of the LP, with a slew of show dates to follow.

On January 24th and 25th, we dropped into a friend's house, who had a nice studio room type setting, good mics and a knowledge of Pro Tools. We demo recorded 12 new songs. All tracks were recorded in one or two takes. The main purpose of the demo recording is to give ourselves a solid listen to the material that we've written. From listening to these recordings, we'll decide what we'll want to change and fine tune, before we hit the real studio in early March. We're also in talks with a record label to release the full length, so this demo will give them a good idea of what we're working with. At this point, our goal is to start recording the LP during the first weekend of March.
We have a couple upcoming shows for February. One is on the 18th in Revere, Mass (right outside Boston) at Club Lido. We'll be playing with BOLD, Righteous Jams, Have Heart and Generations. The next show is in Wallingford, CT at the Wallingford American Legion. That show will be with On Three, Cash In, Check Your Face and Our Final Say. Both should be a cool shows and and we're definitely looking forward to playing a full weekends worth. We're also in the planning stages of a few more shows in the coming months, so stayed tuned for further details as they arise.

It's been awhile since the last update, so I thought I'd touch base to try and keep everybody in the loop. Since our last show in Connecticut, we've just been doing a lot of practicing and song writing. We're extremely close to finishing up all the material for the full length. Just another song or two and we'll be ready to hit the studio. In the meantime, we've been asked to play a lot of different shows within the next few months, so we're going to try our best and play out as much as we can, while still preparing to record for the LP. Keep an eye on our shows section, we'll be updating that shortly. We're also working on getting the journal section up, so watch out for that as well. Until next time, take it eash!

Triple Threat has been added to the CT. Posi Fall Fest in Cromwell CT on October 1st. Unfortunately Follow Through were unable to play, but their absence opened a spot in the line up for us. Thanks to Jim Bach for pulling us into the fold. We're looking forward to playing with all the bands, it should be a great show. See ya there and remember... Connecticut is not soft!

As everybody pretty much all ready knows, this years Hellfest was canceled. Definitely a bummer. We were all looking forward to adding: played with Public Enemy, to our resume. Oh well, maybe next time. At least most of the touring and traveling bands seemed to get shows locally. At this point we have no new shows booked for the next couple of months, so we're going to work hard on writing the rest of the songs for a full length LP. We decided instead of recording another EP, we're just going to dive head on into a full length. Label wise, we're not exactly sure who we're going to have release the full length, but as soon as we know, we'll let you know.

Just wanted to say thanks to all those who made it out to this years Posi Numbers Fest and caught our set. We were extremely excited for this years show and we were by no means let down. From the first note of "A New Chapter", kids started going off. The reaction we got couldn't have been cooler. Stage dives, sing alongs, lots of energy,
it was all there. It was an incredible opportunity for us to play to a lot of new faces and we had a great time doing it.

Hey, what's up everybody? Welcome to the official Triple Threat
website. It's definitely been a long time coming. The plan was to have
this site launched around the time of our first E.P. on Livewire Records, "A New Chapter", but as you probably figured out, it just didn't come together in time. We went back and forth with different design concepts and features and finally settled on what your looking at now. Our plan is to put all the information out there that people need to know and should know, but also give people an inside look at the members that make up Triple Threat. One of the ways that we decided to do this, was through the use of our journal feature. (more) |
